Vinyl

Supplying Masters

Masters can be supplied as audio CD/DDP or WAV files and should include a track sheet specifying A & B sides, song titles, start times and running lengths. DDP & WAV files can be uploaded to us directly via our FTP server (log-in details available on request), Dropbox or any other Web file delivery service.

Test Pressings

Test pressings are always supplied for your evaluation and quality control and we will not proceed with any order until you have fully approved test pressings supplied.

Artwork & Printing

CD Duplication

Supplying Your Master

We prefer masters to be supplied as either DDP or Red Book CD-R and should include a track sheet specifying the song titles, start times and running lengths. DDP files can be uploaded to us directly via our FTP server (log-in details available on request), or sent via weTransfer (recommended), Dropbox or any other Web based large file delivery service.

If required, we have our own fully equipped CD Mastering studio in-house and can offer all solutions for CD pre-mastering ISRC & CD text encoding, using the industry standard Sadie PCM8 DAW.

Artwork & Print

After CD duplication and CD printing, CD’s are either machine or hand packed into the required type of cases or specialist packaging. Please see our packaging & print section page for details of the different options available and instructions on how to supply your artwork.

CD Replication

Glass Mastering

Glass Mastering involves the data from your master being transferred onto an optically ground and polished disc. The digital information is etched into a coating on the glass, which is then used to make stampers in an electrolytic bath. These stampers then go on to be used in the moulding process during replication.

Supplying Your Master

We prefer masters to be supplied as either DDP or Red Book CD-R and should include a track sheet specifying the song titles, start times and running lengths. DDP files can be uploaded to us directly via our FTP server (log-in details available on request), or sent via weTransfer (recommended), Dropbox or any other Web based large file delivery service.

If required, we have full CD Mastering facilities in-house using the Sadie PCM8 DAW in our state of the art post production studio.

Artwork & Print

After replication, discs are either silk screen or litho printed prior to machine or hand packing into the required type of cases or specialist packaging. Please see our packaging & print section details of the different options available and instructions on how to supply your artwork.

DVD Authoring

Supplying your files for Authoring

For best results source data files should always be supplied rather than a video DVD copy. Data compression is involved in putting video onto DVD and it is always best if we can work from the original source files before that compression occurs to enable us to give you the best possible result. We can work from most common video file formats and should you need help at any stage, our engineers are available for advice on how to achieve the highest quality and compatibility for your DVD production master.

Video files can be supplied to us on hard drive, USB or DVD-ROM, or uploaded to us directly via our FTP server (log-in details available on request), weTransfer (recommended), Dropbox or any other Web based large file delivery service.

Supplying DVD Masters

If you are supplying your own masters, please supply a DLT (Digital Linear Tape) or a DVD-R. If CSS encryption is required, please supply DLT’s and make sure that you have “enabled” the DLT to be encrypted at the authoring stage.

DVD Duplication

Masters for duplication should be supplied as DVD-R. If required, we can take care of DVD Authoring for you using the latest Adobe CS video production suite for DVD authoring and video post production.

DVD Replication

Glass Mastering

Glass Mastering for DVD’s is effectively the same process as it is with an audio CD. Digital data from your master, first being transferred onto an optically ground and polished disc, which is then used to make stampers, before going on to the moulding process used to replicate the finished DVD’s.

DVD masters should be supplied as a DLT (Digital Linear Tape) or a DVD-R. If CSS encryption is required, please supply DLT’s and make sure that you have “enabled” the DLT to be encrypted at the authoring stage.

Exact specifications can be supplied upon application and should you need any assistance in preparing your artwork, our designers are on hand to help you with any questions or provide you with a complete design service if required. Key points to remember when supplying artwork are:

  • Always include a colour proof so that we know what the end result should look like
  • Include all fonts used (both screen and printer fonts)
  • If you are using Illustrator we recommend that you convert all fonts to outlines
  • Make sure that all of your scans and image files are CMYK colour, 300dpi at reproduction
  • Always include 3mm bleed and trim marks.
Proofs

Before any order is committed to print, we will supply you with PDF proofs for final approval – hard copy match proofs are available on request as a cost extra option.
